Allards Lounge was formerly an off licence in Tynemouth, an affluent area that was crying out for a stylish bistro. Allards was the third fit-out Quay Shop Fitters have completed on Front Street in Tynemouth so we were well aware that the finish had to be of the highest calibre in keeping with the local area.
There are numerous cafes, bars and restaurants on the main street therefore Allards had to offer something extra special in order to stand out above the rest, this was achieved through unique interior decor incorporating the combination of plush soft furnishings, quirky wall coverings and exquisite decorative lighting. It was vital that the decor appealed to a variety of tastes for the bistro to be a success and that the layout would remain practical for a range of occasions.
As the premises are relatively narrow it was important to make the best use of space so as to ensure that the business could maximise its potential capacity. Fixed wall-seating and cosy tub chairs were used to create relaxing areas for customers to enjoy their food and drinks.
The beautifully handcrafted bar counter creates an attractive focal point whilst offering a practical service area for customers to meet. Display shelving and chalkboards have been incorporated into the decor to display the wide range of wines, snacks and other products available.
A stylish seating area was created to the front of the bistro, the furniture design and artificial planting ensure that is low maintenance whilst giving a warm welcome to passers-by and offering a comfortable ‘al fresco’ experience to customers in a pleasant environment.
The deadline on Allards Lounge was crucial, as the summer was rapidly approaching the owner wanted to have the business up and running as soon as possible. The fit-out was completed in 12 weeks ensuring that any snagging or ‘teething problems’ with the operation could be addressed before the summer break.
